About the course

The video lectures are designed and developed by COP Education and delivered by Sivarami Reddy (MTech., IIT Bombay), who brings over 10+ years of teaching experience in Engineering Chemistry and Environmental Studies. Each lecture is developed with a strong emphasis on conceptual clarity, scientific accuracy, and structured learning. Every topic is explained in a simple, step-by-step manner, enabling students with different learning abilities to understand concepts at their own pace. The lectures incorporate real-world applications, solved examples, examination-oriented problem-solving techniques, and practical insights to help students build a strong conceptual foundation, excel in semester examinations, and confidently prepare for competitive examinations such as APECET and TGECET.

COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of Engineering Chemistry and Environmental Studies, students will be able to:

  1. Develop a strong understanding of the fundamental concepts of atomic structure, electronic configuration, chemical bonding, oxidation-reduction reactions, mole concept, concentration of solutions, colloids, acids, bases, pH, and buffer solutions, and apply these concepts to solve engineering and industrial problems.
  2. Understand the principles of electrochemistry, including electrolysis, galvanic cells, batteries, and corrosion, and apply appropriate methods for corrosion prevention in engineering applications.
  3. Identify the hardness of water, determine its degree of hardness, and apply suitable water treatment methods for domestic and industrial purposes.
  4. Explain the preparation, properties, and applications of polymers, alloys, nanomaterials, and green fuels, and recognize their significance in modern engineering and sustainable technologies.
  5. Develop awareness of ecosystems, environmental pollution, biodiversity conservation, green chemistry, and sustainable development, and apply environmentally responsible practices in engineering and industrial fields.
  6. Prepare confidently for semester examinations through concept-oriented learning, solved examples, and examination-focused discussions aligned with the prescribed syllabus.
  7. Strengthen competitive examination preparation using additional practice questions, previous-year question papers, and value-added resources designed for AP ECET, TG ECET, and other engineering entrance examinations.
